Deleted cell text is restored when tab off cell

I’m sure this is something obvious, but ….

We have a Spread bound to a bindingsource object.
The datasource columns do not allow nulls.

If we delete the contents of a text cell and tab out of the cell, the original text value is put right back in the cell.

I know that it is triggering an edit error 5 (“InvalidCellData”).
I presume it’s because the empty cell text is being seen as null.

To fix this, when we leave a cell, we want to be able to change an empty value to a space character.
However, we don’t know which event to intercept in order to do that.

QUESTION: Which event will let us test the value of a cell and, if it is empty, modify the cell value?

LeaveCell() doesn’t work because the cell “text” and “value” properties both contain the original cell value and not the blank value that caused the edit error.

    Thank.

    Hi Paul,

I am not able to replicate this issue at my end. Could you please test the attached sample and provide me a sample application to debug this issue further?

    Thanks,
    Deepak Sharma
